Low Carbon Homes
Gusto Construction has been building low carbon homes for 25 years after our Chairman was inspired by the Rio Earth Summit in 1992. Check out some of our low carbon projects below.

Woodlands Edge (Phase 1)
Phase 1 Woodlands edge is a visionary eco-development, sat on a 12-acre plot with its own woodland, a harmonious fusion of sustainability and innovation. Utilising cutting-edge Beco Walform technology, the homes have solar panels, renewable energy and our residences boast MVHR systems for optimal air quality and comfort. This is alongside infrared solar heating technology for cosy interiors all year-round. They also incorporate rainwater harvesting systems to preserve precious resources and an enhanced drainage system using the warm water to heat the cold.

Woodlands Edge (Phase 2)
The second phase of the development comprises of 11 properties. A mix of timber frame and standard masonry construction, each home is designed with enhanced cavities and unparalleled air tightness, approaching Passivhaus standards for optimal energy efficiency. All properties enjoy the perks of inset solar panels panels, MVHR systems, infrared heating panels and air-to-air heating, giving you the best of both worlds, warmth in winter and cool breezes in summer.

Millennium Green
We commenced the construction of our inaugural project, Millennium Green, in alignment with the principles of the Rio Declaration in 1998. This project was completed in 2002, resulting in 24 new homes which, in broad terms, used 50% less energy and 50% less water compared to houses built to contemporary building regulations at the time.

This was a private self build (designed in collaboration with the client) in the heart of our Collingham Brook development and was built to a very high standard throughout. This property had an MVHR system and PV panels integrated along with high quality internal fixtures and fittings, achieving a high A rated EPC on completion.
Self Build

Collingham Brook Eco
This is a continuation of the Collingham Brook development, consisting of 14 low carbon homes featuring electric infrared heating, solar PV, power diverters, car charging points and high levels of airtightness, creating modern contemporary looking homes. Most plots benefit from south facing gardens and have first floor balconies extending from the master bedrooms.
Coming soon: Easthorpe
A proposed development of 36 new-build homes, all to be constructed to the AECB Standard. This means they will surpass current Building Regulations by a considerable margin and be comparable to a Passivhaus design. The homes will consist of a mix of bungalows, dormer bungalows, and modern contemporary houses with a country village styling. Additionally, the development will include three three-bedroom apartments modelled on the existing 1920s Art Deco manor house.
