24 hour Viking Way challenge

The Gusto team took part in a 24-hour walk, jog and run challenge along the Viking Way in aid of Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal and Lincs2Nepal. The participants walked, jogged, and ran along the Viking Way, passing the baton on to the next team along the 128km route! Team 1 set off from Barton-upon- Humber at 4pm Thursday 28th July and Team 8 arrived just outside of Lincoln at 4pm the following day, to celebrate with a BBQ.

The challenge was a great success! Well done to everyone who got involved and thank you to all those who kindly donated. Together we’ve raised a massive £6,582.18! With £3,855.93 going to Lincs2Nepal and £2,726.25 for Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, this will make a big difference to many people’s lives.

The Red Cross is currently doing a lot of amazing work in Ukraine and with the crisis continuing to unfold, we thought there is no better charity to support in these extremely concerning times. Red Cross teams in Ukraine have helped more than 750,000 people since the conflict began. So far, they have distributed 400 tonnes of vital aid, including food, blankets, hygiene parcels and warm clothes. First aid training has also been delivered to over 42,000 people so they have the skills to treat their loved ones if needed.

Founded by Gary Goddard, Lincs2Nepal has been supporting children in Nepal through numerous projects, including building children’s homes, supporting a children’s HIV centre and a major disaster relief programme following the 2015 earthquakes. Now focusing on drastically improving education, Lincs2Nepal continues to change children’s lives through much-needed donations.
