Lincs2Nepal charity trip

Lincs2Nepal is a charity based in Nepal set up by Gary Goddard from Lincoln – the charity has been running for 15 years and in that time, they have built a school from the ground up which now provides an education for over 1,000 students. Lincs2Nepal was one of the charities supported by the funds raised on our Viking Way 24-hour challenge last year.

Lincs2Nepal also support the ‘40 Friends’ children’s home in Kathmandu, where many of the 20 children have come to the home from living on the street. Gusto Construction are one of the ‘40 Friends’ that have committed to donating £40 every month to support both running the children’s home and paying for the children’s education.

Gusto employees Jerome, Joseph & Jasmin have just returned from Nepal, where they visited the school and the children’s home to see the amazing work the charity is doing – they helped to paint a mural at the children’s home which included all the names of the ‘40 Friends’, as well as the names of the children. The children are all so grateful to have the gift of education, something we really take for granted in the U.K.

At the school, Jerome couldn’t help himself getting involved with the building work, even carrying bricks on his head. The labourers were carrying all the materials around the site on their heads whilst wearing flip flops in the 32 degree heat!
